Better Care. Better Business. Better Communities.
Our allies and endorsers support the idea that better care should be available to more people for less cost. A universal, publicly funded health care system is good for Oregon businesses, associations, unions, faith communities, and civic groups alike -- reducing administrative burden, stabilizing costs, and keeping our communities healthy.
There are no membership dues to become an Ally or Endorser. We simply ask that you publicly support HCAO's mission and allow us to list your organization among our allies.

Six Reasons to Support Universal Health Care
From the perspective of Oregon business owners and employers.
Universal health care relieves employers of all administrative responsibilities relating to health benefits. Employers no longer need to manage deductions, determine benefits, or pay providers.
Universal, publicly funded health care means every person and business knows exactly how much they'll pay each year. Costs do not change due to health, family size, or employment status. Negotiating under an economy of scale means we all save money.
A universal health care system provides everyone in Oregon with the same benefits regardless of age, employment status, or disability. This relieves businesses of the burden of paying for retiree health plans.
By removing deductibles and co-pays, universal access to health care encourages employees to seek care early. Employees stay healthier and more productive, reducing sick time expense for everyone.
Benefits are determined by the single payer agency, not by individual labor-management contracts. This simplifies negotiations and reduces friction between employers and employees.
Under universal health care, companies are no longer incentivised to cut costs by cutting health benefits. Oregon businesses gain a competitive advantage over those with employer-based health care, and become better positioned to compete internationally.
