HCAO stands in solidarity with the
Movement for Black Lives

We all wear many masks and many are involved in racial justice work, including in the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. HCAO work strongly intersects with the BLM movement.

"If and when we achieve our goal of implementing a universal healthcare system, we will have helped to achieve a dismantling of our current healthcare system, which is riddled with systematic racial inequities, and is a white supremacist structure. In addition, systemic racism causes many health problems related to socio-economic disparities and the impacts of toxic stress. Without addressing systemic racism these associated health problems will persist regardless of access to care."
